Airport to Negombo
Meet your private driver at Bandaranaike International Airport and travel to nearby Negombo. After checking in and taking time to settle, enjoy a relaxed boat ride through the Dutch Canal around sunset.

Negombo to Anuradhapura
Travel north to Anuradhapura and discover its monumental stupas, monasteries, sacred places, and archaeological remains. The city introduces the history and spiritual traditions that continue to shape the island.
Anuradhapura flourished as Sri Lanka's political and religious capital for around 1,300 years. Its sacred landscape grew around Sri Maha Bodhi, traditionally regarded as a descendant of the tree beneath which the Buddha attained enlightenment.
Landmarks include Thuparamaya, associated with one of the island's earliest stupas, Ruwanwelisaya, and the great monastic complexes of Abhayagiri and Jetavanaramaya. The exact stops depend on the day's route and available time.

Mihintale to Sigiriya
Begin at Mihintale, one of the island's most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Continue towards Sigiriya for an authentic village experience and traditional lunch, followed by an afternoon safari in the Minneriya or Habarana area.
The park is selected according to seasonal conditions and current elephant movements.
Mihintale is traditionally associated with the meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiya Tissa in the 3rd century BCE, an event linked to the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka.
The hill became an important monastic and pilgrimage centre, with ancient stupas, rock shelters, and long stone stairways spread across its slopes.

Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa
Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress to discover its gardens, ruins, frescoes, and wide views over the surrounding landscape. Later, explore the temples, statues, and royal monuments of ancient Polonnaruwa.
King Kassapa I made Sigiriya his capital in the late 5th century. Palace ruins crown the 180-metre Lion Rock, while gardens, galleries, frescoes, and the monumental lion gateway reveal the ambition of the royal complex.
Polonnaruwa became Sri Lanka's second capital after Anuradhapura. Its ruins combine Chola-period monuments with the 12th-century garden city developed under King Parakramabahu I.

Sigiriya to Kandy
Visit the UNESCO-listed Dambulla Royal Cave Temple before continuing through Matale for a traditional Hindu temple. In Kandy, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and finish the day with a Kandyan cultural dance performance.
Dambulla has been a place of Buddhist pilgrimage for more than two millennia. Its five cave sanctuaries form Sri Lanka's largest and best-preserved cave-temple complex, known for extensive murals and 157 statues.
Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhala kings. The Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic houses a relic revered as the Buddha's tooth and remains one of the country's most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites.

Kandy to Negombo
Travel back towards Negombo with a visit to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage on the way. After checking in, enjoy the final evening of the journey at your leisure.

Negombo to the airport
After breakfast, your private driver will collect you from the hotel and transfer you to Bandaranaike International Airport according to your flight departure time.
